A brief sermon on Sunday of the Myrrh-bearing women...

Today we are commemorating Myrrh -bearing women's Sunday... Glory be to God that he granted us opportunity, on this feast day, to venerate and to Glorify again, his beautiful creation - a woman. Every time when I see, in my mind, those divinely merciful women, it makes me think about how wonderful a woman's existence is, about her external and internal beauty, about her love and care for family and children. It's not by accident that the first joy of Christ's resurrection, God granted to Myrrh-bearing women. Not Peter, not any of the disciples, not even John was rewarded with the honor of being the first witness of the resurrection, only Myrrh-bearing women were. Woman is a birth giver ... she is the messenger of good news … she is the giver of life, that's why Adam named a woman "Eva", which in Hebrew means "life living one". From Eva came sin to Adam and now from New Eva came words of Salvation to new Adam. This day reminds us also Myrrh -bearing women's humility and obedience to Jesus Christ. They were also involved in Jesus Christ's ministry and in His life … they were obedient to the love ... obedient to the God. In that way, our creator beautified His creation with all kinds of virtues. Think about how good it is when woman is dressed like a woman, acts like a woman, and speaks like a woman. Likewise we can say the same about a man as well - when a man acts like a man. At first glance it seems like it's easy, but let us observe what kind of values the modern world offers us - same-sex marriage – which is enough to poison the whole world and humanity, This is an attack against God and His creation… because Love between a man and a woman is the fundamental value of our existence.. So Let us keep our faith in our hearts strongly, let us listen to what the holy spirit says by church's mouth and let us be true men and true women... for His the dominion and the power and the Glory of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit now and ever and unto the ages of ages... amen..
