A Brief Sermon 08/05/12

Every Christian's life looks like a walking on a rope bridge… when we say that God is Love we don’t have to connect it with any sentimental feelings…or any egoistic feelings… because the Love is only for brave hearte d people... for those people who sacrifice oneself for other people… today's gospel's reading is about how Jesus walked on the sea of Galilee... We can interpret many themes and advice that are helpful for the soul, from this reading. In itself it would be about the miracle of walking on water, lack of faith, consolation and various spiritual matters. However, today I would like to ask for your attention and briefly tell you about that divine daring and bravery which every Christian must have. "Don't be afraid, be daring" ...says our Savior to the desciples and by it also tells us to be daring along our journey to the Lord's Kingdom. Often, our lives resemble the rough seas at night and it seems as though we are afraid to step towards the Lord and towards upholding the Lord's commandments… but Yet we must still try to walk towards him in our lives. Just as Peter tells the Savior "order me to come to you", we must ask the same to our Savior, and .. the most improbable events will happen without delay by His grace… ..And that is the type of bravery that is born from love... what Peter had... “Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water” ...love will eliminate every fear and endure every audacity. A person who doesn't have courage, will not have unconditional love; just like a person who doesn't have unconditional love can never be courageous. Lets wish that God grants us the courage and divine daring so that we can all continue our journey towards God, where we should always remember Peter’s prayer: lord save me... Glory be to Christ!!!
